NASA and the U.S. Army are working together to study the way rotorcraft work when lifting heavy objects.

The scientists put sensors on the different parts of the rotorcraft. The sensors measure the weight of the load and how the load sways during flight.

They want to learn more about how to safely control the helicopter and its slung load during flight.
